It’s been a few weeks since I last posted some news regarding club results, and I’m happy to say the club continues to tick along nicely with all teams competing strongly in their respective grades.
On the 21st of November a third club member, Cheryl Brown, reached the incredible milestone of playing 500 club games for Valley View. She joins fellow club life members: Sharon Perkins (631+), and Kim Sanderson (511+), between the 3 of them that’s a staggering 1600+ games!
On the 28th of November, teams played in the worst weather conditions I think anyone can remember, fortunately Div 3 were spared the experience with a bye that day.
Last Saturday, with the start of our turn running canteen, we had perfect conditions. All teams also recorded wins that day, and we were presented with an opportunity to have a “club” photo of as many members we could gather on the spur of the moment.
I wish to express my thanks, especially, to Cathy Gregory, for all her hard work in preparation for canteen, and to all of you for your continuing support in making this a successful fundraiser for the club. We have over a number of years been able to prevent any fee rises due to the healthy amount in our bank account.
I would also like to thank all of you who have had a turn at umpiring, the worst of our commitments are over now with the end of double headers, and I expect teams will only be asked to umpire every 3 weeks.
Thank-you to all who so generously give of their time to make our club the success it is.
Regards

Hello All,
If you don’t know already Valley View has canteen this coming week and next.
So, we are looking for volunteers to assist with the serving in the canteen
and cooking the bbq. There are no 4:45 p.m. games so we will be out of
there relatively early.
There are still a few items we need assistance with and these are 3 x
lettuces (can shred on day), 3 kgs tomatoes (can slice on day), 60 x cheese
slices (large packs better) and 3 x kg bacon (short-back).
Any donations of the above gratefully accepted.
I will be bringing the canteen list out the training tomorrow night so if
you can help with serving or a donation please see me.
This is one of our major fundraisers for the season so please help if you
can.
