Dear members,
with the weather predicted to be very hot this weekend I wish to advise you of CDSA hot weather policy, the full policy can be viewed at:
http://www.centraldistricts.softball.org.au/site/softball/centraldistricts/downloads/operatingdocuments/Hot%20Weather%20Policy%2020091104.pdf
the short version is this:
between 35-37 oC length of junior games is modified.
at 38oC all junior games are cancelled and will not be rescheduled.
With respect to seniors: above 37oC game length may be modified, and extra hydration time between half innings is allowed.
At 40oC all senior games will also be cancelled, and replayed on the Sunday of the following weekend, weather permitting.
All temperatures are based on the forecast temperature for ELIZABETH on the ABC 7pm news, Friday night.
If senior games go ahead it is very important to thoroughly hydrate, with water, Friday, and Saturday morning before the game, and bring some water with you, allowing a minimum of 1L per hour, each team has water coolers, but this volume may not be enough for all the players in the team.
